Marketing Profile handle PR for artists and recently issued a press release on behalf of  client Colin Taylor.

Cheshire Artist, Colin Taylor continues his run of success as one painting is chosen to feature on the cover of a poetry anthology and another is purchased by the Irish Government.

Following the recent exhibition of Colin’s work at Manchester’s ‘Contemporary Six’ Gallery which included paintings and drawings developed as part of the commission by the architects, Simpson Haugh Partners, of twelve paintings for No 1 Spinningfields, a new landmark development that sits in the heart of the Spinningfields development in Manchester, Bowdon based artist Colin Taylor, is set for further recognition.

One of the paintings from the Spinningfields project has been chosen for the cover a new anthology of poems by Professor Antony Rowland, the Chair of Modern and Contemporary Poetry at Manchester Metropolitan University.  The anthology, titles “M”, includes poems about each of the postcode districts in Manchester and will be launched at an event on 28th September at Manchester Metropolitan University Arts and Culture Hub on 70 Oxford Road. Colin Taylor commented, ‘I’ve enjoyed Antony’s poems for several years now and I’m delighted to have been asked to contribute in this way. He deals with similar themes of cultural history and of the structural and physical change of urban landscape in way that seems complementary of our individual creative practices’. In 2012, Antony Rowland won the prestigious Manchester Poetry Prize and has also recorded for the National Poetry Archive.

Additionally, the Irish Government have recently purchased a painting by Colin Taylor. A small number of galleries across Ireland are invited to nominate paintings from which a small number are selected each year to add to the Irish national art collection. ‘Delhi’, an oil painting by Taylor was proposed by The Chimera Gallery in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, Ireland.  Colin commented, “That a painting about a city in India by an English painter has been bought by the Irish Government for their permanent collection says much about the positive and imaginative approach to the arts in Ireland. The news came as a great surprise’.

Colin records different places- not only cityscapes but also natural environments, mountains, busy streets, or a crowd at a festival. His work is a form of visual autobiography. Although based in Cheshire his work goes far beyond and he has had solo exhibitions in New York, Cologne, Washington DC and Paris.
